AutoPot UK Trials

Live AutoPot Trials from
Valley Grown Nurseries

We are proud to announce that we have now set up our main trial for 2012 at Valley Grown Nurseries. The trial will run for two years utilising the easy2grow systems to grow pepper plants in a total of 88 pots using market leaders Canna and Gold Label coco mediums. Valley Grown Nurseries is one of the UK’s most prestigious and respected nurseries, they grow over 250,000 pepper plants a year, supplying the main supermarkets within the UK with peppers all year round. The trial is being conducted in a controlled environment of 72 degrees, humidity of 75% and the fertiliser used is a bespoke mix compiled by Gary Taylor, one of the leading horticulturists in the UK.

The trial will be monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to truly show the development of the plants and progression of the project. There is the above live stream video as well as time lapse photography, a photo will be taken every 5 minutes, then the photos will be regularly collated to create a video showing the progression of the trial over time. Watch this space for live updates throughout next year within the website and features in newsletters on the trial’s progress. Here at AutoPot we are extremely confident that this will be our best commercial trial to date.

AutoPot Chilli Trials from
Brill View Nurseries, Oxfordshire

AutoPot are pleased to announce that we are conducting a commercial chilli trial at our farm site in Bicester, Oxfordshire. We are growing one thousand chilli plants using 500 of the easy2grow systems from March ready for harvest in July. The seeds were germinated in January and raised indoors until early March, when they were put outside on heated benches. In mid April, they were potted up into the 8.5 litre pots and placed in a warm area within the greenhouse. Due to the terrible weather that we've had through April May and June, we had to keep the plants in a warm area delaying us putting them into the 2Pot trays. Towards the end of May, we placed the 1000 potted chillies in the easy2grow extension trays to grow in the main greenhouse area. In the smaller area of the green house, we are growing Thai Aubergines, Thai Birds Eye Chillies, Thai Melons and Tomatoes. We will be using the easy2grow liquid feed and coco medium for this trial. Between 15 July 2012 and 9 September 2012 we have picked nearly 800 kilos of chillies. Please do take a look at the videos to watch the progress of this trial throughout the year.
